Here's that we did:
We had a great time and it was restful which was exactly what Jake and I needed.
Friday we got there and went and had an early dinner at a great pizza place then we were off to the James Taylor concert. We parked on a side road across the street from the amphitheater and started walking there when Ed needed to take something back to the car. Good thing he did because they were already staring to call the tow trucks. Ed moved the car and met up with us inside the venue. It was a nice night, a great venue and a good performer. Kate's friend Amy and her husband Billy went with us to the concert.
Saturday we got up around 8:00 and took our time getting ready. We all walked to the downtown area and stopped in a few shops on the way. We went to the fort where they were doing a reenactment of the British taking over the fort from the Spanish. They only do this once a year and we were there to see it! After that we walked around a little and went to the Columbia for lunch. We all had 1905 salads and Sangria and it was good! After lunch we walked around Flaggler College and the San Sebastian Winery and did the wine tasting there. We had a little snack of gelato and a caramel and peanut covered apple. Jake and I found some cute Spanish tile house numbers and Kate found a shirt to buy during the day. After a short rest at the hotel, we went to dinner at the Tasting Room, Wine and Tapas bar. We had some great food including Lamb, sauteed calamari, scallops, shrimp with chorizo and of course wine. It was REALLY good food and Kate and Ed said the lamb they had was as good as Happa in Tampa(sp?) so it must be good. It was pretty late when we left the restaurant and we went to the Tini Martini Bar and I had a Bellini Tini which tasted like a Bellini (champagne and peach nectar) and a peach martini...YUM!
Sunday, Jake and I slept a little later (9:00) and then we all went to breakfast at a little restaurant on the water downtown. We walked around a little more after breakfast buying souvenirs on the way. I also got a piece of chocolate dipped key lime pie on a stick. It was pretty good, but I would have rather had more gelato. Then about 1:00 we headed back to the hotel to pack up and get on the road.
