Girls Weekend

February 21-24 Caroline and I attended a girls weekend in Baton Rouge, La (where Paulan, Mesha, and Robin live). We started this 4 years ago with some of my friends from college . We try to get together at least once a year to get away from our everyday lives and celebrate our friendship with each other. This was everyone's first time meeting Chloe, Summer's daughter, and we were so excited to get to know her. We had a great time visiting with the girls and we can't wait until next year. Enjoy our photos!

In the Tallahassee Airport. I decided it was way too long to drive with a 6 month old for 6 hours by myself. Caroline was so good on the plane. I had multiple comments about people not knowing there was a baby on the plane.
Lounging at Robin's with all of her dirty clothes. It rained on Thursday in Atlanta and our bags sat outside and got all of our clothes wet. We had lots of washing to do when we arrived.
Robin shows Caroline how to play Airplane!

At Mesha's barn...
Mesha shows Caroline and Summer how to lead a horse.
First time on a horse.

Chloe and Summer. P.S. Chloe threw up on the horse!

Sarah- in purple on left, Paulan's niece (Renee and Brian's Daughter-10 months)

Chloe- in middle, Summer's daughter-4 months
Caroline- on right, hitting Chloe in the head. When did my daughter become so vicious?

Tummy time.
Caroline throws and elbow to get the best spot.
Can you tell which one is a camera hog!?!?

1, 2, 3...Caroline wins!

Best Friends!

Want a Cookie?

Caroline really likes her teething biscuit.
But don't try and take it away from her or you might get this look...she is serious!

Jennifer and Todd

Jennifer Jarred and her fiance Todd Peyton were in town for a wedding shower. We got together with them for lunch and had a good visit. Jennifer and Todd's wedding is March 29 in Baton Rouge, LA. Congrats!

Valentines Day & Cody's Game

Happy Valentines Day to everyone! Caroline was given multiple outfits to wear for Valentines and good thing she is an active pooper because she got to wear all of them. Here is the one she started the day in.
Jacket-from Aunt Michele
Pants, socks and onsie-from Nana

Caroline received some presents from her friends at day care plus her teachers helped her make a card for Jake and I. Ms. Marsha gave Caroline a stuffed bear that is so cuddly and soft. When you press the bears foot and it says "I love you, I love you." Caroline loves Ms. Marsha because she takes such good care of her.

Cousin Cody (we call him toe-dy) had a basketball game that night and since Jake/daddy was out of town we went to cheer on Maclay. They played West Gadsden County and beat them by 1 point. Caroline was into the game at first, but it got late and she fell asleep even with all the cheering. We saw Deb Deb, Nana, Do and Grandma at the game and we received lots of presents for valentines. Thanks to everyone!

Cody's "new" haircut-

Cody is a rookie this year on the varsity basketball team and after the team won districts they decided to give the newbies a haircut. I actually like it.

I had to add this picture in the blog. This is Chloe McKee, Summer's daughter. She is so cute! We get to meet Chloe for the first time this coming weekend when we go to Baton Rouge for a girls weekend. We cannot wait to get our mits on her. Summer says that Chloe and Caroline are going to be best friends (and Zeta's), and I agree. I just wish they lived a little closer than Houston.

6 Month Pictures

While I was home from Australia the three of us met Hester and Gjergj at Dorthy B. Oven park so they could take Caroline's six month pictures.
They always do a good job and these are no exception.
Thanks Hester and Gjergj.

Here are a few and the link to see the rest.

Enjoy!
Jake

You can see her teeth a little in this one.

Jake's rough life

This is Jakes view from his room in Marseille, France. Just kidding, but it is the picture on the website of his hotel in Marseille. Jake said "But the view from my room is not much different from this."
Go check out the site http://www.accorhotels.com/accorhotels/fichehotel/fr/pul/3485/fiche_hotel.shtml.
Looks like a great hotel!

Although not as good as the above view my view is pretty good!

Caroline scooting video & other updates

Here is the best video I could get of Caroline scooting. She now scoots backwards and forwards and obviously gets up on all fours and rocks back to front. Pretty soon she will be crawling and getting into everything around the house. I guess it is about time to baby proof the house.

Caroline also got her 3rd tooth last week. The tooth has come in on the her right side of her other 2 teeth on the bottom. I cannot seem to get a good picture of her teeth, but I promise I will keep trying.

6 month check up

I took Caroline for her 6 month check up and shots appointment at the doctor today. She weighed 16 lbs 2 oz and was 26 inches long. She is right on the line for the growth chart for girls at her age. Caroline did extremely well while getting her shots and she even got an extra one this time becasue they offered a Flu shot. The Doctor said she was growing and developing well. She also mentioned that I should start feeding her solid food twice a day. I cannot believe how fast she is growing!
I sat her on the floor to take pictures of her Daffy Duck band-aids, but she was more interested in her balls and the basket they were in(the purple thing on her head).

Carrot Coma #2

Caroline and I have our normal routine of getting home from work/day careand playing for about an hour and then she gets fed dinner around 6:30. This day I gave her Carrots and Sweet Peas and she passed out after she finished eating. I let her sleep there for about 30 minutes and then I moved her into her bed. She must have been really tired!

This entry is titled Carrot Coma #2 because this happened once before. She ate 4 oz of carrots about a month ago and slept almost 12 hours that night. I wonder if there is tryptophan in carrots like there is in turkey?

Congrats Kristin!

CONGRATS goes out to my friend Dr. Kristin Raboin for passing her National Board Exams to become a Veterinarian! We are so proud of her! Congrats again Kris!

She also passed her Alabama Boards a couple of months ago so she is licensed in Alabama. Kristin graduates from Tuskegee University on May 11th.

Note: Kristin was telling me that in an national state of emergency, she can practice medicine on humans as well as animals. Regular doctors cannot even do that! How cool!

Daddy's Home!

Jake came home from Australia on Monday. We missed him so much and could not wait to see him. He got in late Monday night and he woke both me and Caroline up so we could hug and kiss him.
Tuesday night we had Grandma and Grandpa over for dinner and Jake fed Caroline for the first time in 3 weeks. It got a little messy, but she ate well.
Caroline waited until Jake got home to sit up all by herself. Now we can all play on the floor together.

Friday we went to cousin Cody's basketball game at Leon.

We realized we did not have many pictures of Caroline and Cameron...so we took some.

Sunday we hung up the swing Aunt Michele let us borrow for Caroline. Caroline loves it! Watch the video below and you will see home much fun she had.

Jake got up bright and early Sunday morning and went to the grocery store. He made baby food for Caroline (yellow squash, nectarines, and peaches) and made me meals that I could freeze and have for lunch and dinners. We both really appreciate him cooking for us! It will definitely make my life a little easier.

Jake left us this morning (monday) to go to Germany, France and the Netherlands for 3 weeks. We hope he has a good time, but we know he will miss us and we will sure miss him! We will post more later!
