Florida Football 2010

Caroline and I went to the first Florida Football Game of 2010. She had fun, but it was a long game and a hot day. Had to share this picture because it is one of my favorites ever!

More Maclay Pictures and Stories

The 2 pre-k3 classes took a field trip together. They got to get on the Maclay School bus and the Driver, Mr. Willie (who was there when Jake and I went to Maclay), drove them all around campus. They saw the "big school" which is the elementary building, the football field, the gym, tennis courts, and the middle and high schools. The teachers said the kids got to practice their bus manners that they had been working on all week.

Nurse Jean, the school nurse, came to pre-k to share her knowledge about spreading germs. She taught the kids to cough into their elbow and the proper way to wash their hands. They learned a hand washing song and it goes like this...

Tops and bottoms, tops and bottoms
In between, in between
All around our hands, all around our hands
Now they're clean, now the're clean. (to the tune of Where is Thumpkin)

Each year the 5th graders get paired up with the pre-k 3 classes as "buddies." They get together every couple of weeks and do puzzles, draw and play games. Caroline's buddy is Paige.

Mrs. Billings, the teachers assistant, was working with Caroline and helping her write the letter C. Caroline's are in red in the picture below. I spoke with Mrs. Billing's that afternoon and she was so impressed on how fast Caroline picked up writing c's. She kept saying such great things about Caroline and how smart she is. When I was talking to her, I could really tell how much they love Caroline!

1st day of Maclay

Caroline started Maclay on Monday August 16th. She is in Mrs. Elizabeth Marschall and Mrs. Billings's Pre-K 3 class.

3 year pictures

Below is the wonderful work of our family photographer, Gjergj Ndoja. He always takes such great photos of Caroline and we asked him to, once again, catch her in action. Her personality really shined during the shoot and she is such a HAM when the camera is around.

Sneak peak pics below. Click on the link at the end of the post to see the rest of her 3 year pics.

Caroline's 3rd Birthday Party

Caroline got to open some presents on her actual birthday morning. She got...

Beads to make necklaces and Toy Story 1 and 2 from us

a handmade apron and chefs hat from Aunt Peggi

Jake got a handmade apron from peggi too!

We had Caroline's party at home again this year. We set up pools and had a lot of water toys to play with.

Jake and I made cupcakes baked in ice cream cones!

They were yummy!

We had a great time with our friends and family! Thank goodness for great, rain-free, weather that day.

SNOW CONES

We bought a snow cone machine for Caroline's birthday party and we decided to try it out one Sunday afternoon. They were yummy!

4th of July

Caroline and I traveled to St. George Island to spend the 4th of July with Kate and Ed, Pete and Brenda. We had a fun time lighting sparklers on the windy beach and going to the parade on the island.

Fun times at the beach!

All Star Baseball in Alabama

Caroline and I traveled to Dothan, AL to watch Walker play in the championship game of his All Star baseball tournament.

Go Nationals!

Caroline was worried that Walker would not get on base.

On deck...

It started to rain at the end of the game, but Walker's team still pulled out a win.

ISR

This is the 2nd year that we have had Caroline in Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) swimming lessons. It is a great program that teaches kids from 6 months-6 years how to survive if they ever fell into a body of water. Caroline learned that ISR calls to swim, float, swim. Caroline learns to swim and them turn over to her back to float and rest and then rolls back over to swim again. She also knows how to pull up out of the water on the side of the pool. We have a great instructor names Patty Thompson and her website is http://www.isrkids.com/.

Here is a picture of Caroline swimming under water.

Fathers Day

Every year my dad's birthday falls the same weekend of Father's day. We had my dad and Jake's dad over to celebrate and Jake cooked a delicious home cooked meal of roast beef and mashed potato's.

Caroline took these pictures!
