Easter at the beach

Easter weekend we went to the beach to visit Kate and Ed. When I was younger, my family would always go to our beach house for Easter. It was nice to have my own family start that tradition as well (hint, hint Kate and Ed).
We dyed eggs Saturday night.
We found out that vinegar works better than water.

The Easter Bunny went a little overboard this year!

Along with starting the beach tradition with Caroline and Jake, I borrowed a tradition from my best friends family. Paulan's family (or Easter bunny, I cannot remember) puts money in the plastic eggs in their Easter baskets. Caroline received $5 total this year. Paulan's eggs are much more exciting than Caroline's because Paulan gets more than $5. Caroline would open the eggs and say "money!" We also "pocked" eggs (not sure I spelled that correctly). I cannot explain this FUN game, but Paulan's family does this too.

The traditions continue with hunting eggs outside on the beach.

Caroline hunting eggs. See the video below to see her in action.

Caroline's version of naming people in this picture would be: Kak Kak, Daa Dee pronounced Da-Dee, Na Nine (what she calls herself), and Eddie.

Caroline is thinking "Don't even think about touching my eggs."

Cheese! This outfit was my sisters when she was little. It is not the cutest, but it is the most special! Another thing to mention is that my mother painted her Easter basket.

How cute!

Happy Easter!

The Beach

Easter weekend we went to St. George Island to visit Kate and Ed. They have moved their furniture in and painted and the house looks great! It was nice to spend some time with them and see Vicki as well. We spent most of our time on the beach, so here are some pictures.

Caroline, Jake and Uncle Ed (Eddie as Caroline calls him) built a wall of sand to shield them from the water.

Eddie and Caroline work on the wall.

Caroline and Daddy at the beach!

There was a huge area of shells that had washed up on the beach. Caroline liked to go pick them up and then put them back in the water. They were very pretty.

Caroline and Jake run in and out of the water. See this in the video below.

Enjoying the COLD water. Notice I am not in the pictures because I am a wimp.

18 month pictures

Its that time again!

We took Caroline for her 18month pictures and here they are...

(the pictures are very big so it may take a minute to download)

It's Baseball Season

Our nephews Will and Walker are playing baseball this year. I have heard that they are both doing great! We hope we can go watch them play soon.

Pictures from March

We had a fun filled March! We were so busy that we did not have time to blog. Here are some funny pictures from that month that we wanted to share.

Caroline received a Mrs. Potato Head as a present. She loves to wear the glasses. I am ashamed to say that both Jake and I have worn them too.

Caroline "relaxing" with her feet up on the coffee table.

Caroline's most favorite thing to do is to "cook, cook." For Valentines day we gave her a chefs hat and an apron. She loves to help us cook.

A good cook always tastes her food before it is served.

Below is a video of Caroline helping me mop. She loves to clean, just like her mommy!

Philip's 50th Birthday

Jake's uncle Philip come into town for his 50th birthday in March. Pete and Brenda had everyone over for dinner and we were supposed to dress for Island weather! We had a ton of good food and great company to go along with that. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BONE HEAD PHILIP!

Extreme Makeover Home Edition-2

I was luck enough to be able to go back to the work site for another day. This time I was supposed to help my friend Julie (who was coordinating the PR for Myddleton Parker) out by taking all of the press people in and around the house. I did this for a couple of hours and then I went to do some manual labor.

A Train bed for one of the girls. I helped paint this. Under the bed is a pull out "trundle" that has a train set on it.

This was just the base coat of paint. We then painted with an orange-red color and then wiped it off to make it look like wooden slats.

The show airs Sunday April 12th at 8:00pm. I hope I am not on TV!
